Garden Party Cocktail Catering is more than just a business- it’s a team built on years of friendship, collaboration, and a shared love for hospitality.
Katy founded Garden Party in 2020 taking private events in people’s yards during the first summer of the pandemic. During this time when so many of us were deprived of the joys of social interaction and time to celebrate with our families and friends, it became obvious just how important these events are to all of us. Curating and planning these events brought so much joy into her life that after 15 years of working behind some of Richmond’s most notable bars, she decided to reframe her career to focus on turning this side project into full fledged business. From pouring shots and beers at Portrait House & shaking up cocktails at the Magpie, to leading the award-winning bar program at the Roosevelt as bar manager (check out her feature on StarChef's ); eventually Katy found herself creating the bar program at Alewife, gaining a “Best Bar in Richmond” nomination and even a personal nomination for “Best Bartender in Richmond”. Even after, Katy could still be found pouring a delicious selection of wine curated by the Doetzer’s at Restaurant Adarra.
enter the love of her life, JOSH!
Josh brings his background in professional farming and backyard homesteading to our company spending time shaking cocktails with the team but also showing off in the kitchen highlighting incredible locally sourced (or even homegrown) ingredients. His passion in growing beautiful vegetables and salad greens led to raising both chickens and ducks for eggs. After many years in the service industry both behind the bar and in the kitchen, Josh was the perfect partner to help take Garden Party to the next level.
Katy and Shane met during their time working together at the Roosevelt over 10 years ago where Shane served as the General Manager, working together to run the prestigious restaurant. After Roosevelt, Shane became the General Manager and Events Coordinator at Southbound, growing his love for these events, successfully hosting business dinners, celebrations, weddings, you name it!
You’ll find him stirring your old fashioneds at your next party, but also helping you with booking events!
Kacie, our in-house creative genius, was also a connection Katy gained at the Roosevelt. Kacie is an industry powerhouse & bartending veteran with an incredible artistic talent. Whether she’s painting murals across Richmond, or busy pining away on her computer impressing us with her graphic design skills, Kacie is equally as equipped mixing incredible cocktails as she is designing
our beautiful branding, logos, and marketing visuals. 
Between the four of us, along with the incredible members of our ever growing team, like Sarah, Vinny, & Dominique;
we have spent hundreds of hours working together -crafting (and of course taste testing) beautiful cocktails, hosting guests, and perfecting the art of hospitality. At our core, we believe in exceptional service, attention to every last detail, and most importantly,
having a blast doing it together.
